Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 has surfaced in new CAD-based renders, hinting at a possible change in Google’s phone launch strategy. In early January, we saw what was suspected to be the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL .
The latest images show a familiar design language, similar to the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL, with a thin metal frame and a redesigned oval camera island that steps away from it of the visor-like camera system of the previous generation.
According to the source, the Pixel 9 will feature a 6.03-inch display, possibly an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, as opposed to the 6.1-inch display on the Pixel 9 Pro and the 6.5-inch display on the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The dimensions listed for the standard Pixel 9 are 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5mm. Notably, the Pixel 9 will have a dual-camera setup, which will be a departure from the three-camera setup seen on both the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
It looks like Google may be taking a different approach with its Pixel 9 series by launching three different devices at the same time. The pricing structure of these upcoming devices and the fate of the Pixel A-series phones, especially whether the standard Pixel 9 will replace it, remains uncertain but investigations into previous Pixel-series leaks means we will have clarity on these issues for months to come. Normally, Google reveals its flagship devices in October, which means there could be an official window for the Pixel 9 series.
As expectations grow, consumers are eagerly awaiting more details about Google’s latest offering that is poised to make waves in the competitive smartphone market.
