Apple’s latest product, the Vision Pro, has generated significant interest since its unveiling in June. With official pre-orders starting recently in the US, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that Apple has already sold an impressive 160,000 to 180,000 units during the initial pre-order phase.
The strong demand for the Vision Pro is evident, as the product is currently sold out, with shipping estimates now set at 5-7 weeks. This is a departure from the usual trend seen with other Apple devices, such as the iPhone, where demand typically continues to grow, leading to gradual extensions in shipping estimates.
However, Kuo anticipates a tapering off of demand once early adopters receive their orders. Despite this, the estimated shipping times have remained stable in the two days following the commencement of pre-orders. This suggests sustained interest in the product, even after the initial rush.
Looking ahead, Kuo projects that Apple will ship a total of 500,000 units of the Vision Pro by the end of the year. This forecast indicates a continued interest in the product, despite the anticipated leveling off of demand in the immediate post-pre-order period.
Apple’s entry into the smart glasses market with the Vision Pro seems to be off to a promising start. With strong initial demand and the potential for further growth in the coming months, Apple is poised to make a mark in this emerging technology sector.
