Rumors surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 have been swirling, with detailed renders surfacing, but a recent report from WinFuture suggests that we may see not just one, but two new Fold 6 models. Samsung appears to be following its Galaxy S-series strategy by introducing an Ultra model alongside the regular version.
According to the report, we can expect a standard Galaxy Z Fold 6, internally codenamed Q6, and a more advanced Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, codenamed Q6A. While specific differences between the two models are still subject to speculation, the latest report indicates that the Ultra variant may feature enhanced cameras, potentially boasting a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main shooter akin to the S24 Ultra. Additionally, the Z Fold 6 Ultra could offer optional stylus support, higher memory and storage options, and larger cover and main displays. Samsung may also introduce an updated hinge design aimed at reducing the visibility of the display crease on the Z Fold 6 Ultra.
Samsung is anticipated to unveil these new foldable devices in July, coinciding with the expected launch of the Galaxy Ring. Contrary to earlier rumors suggesting a cheaper model, Samsung seems to be adopting a dual-pronged approach with its Galaxy Z Fold 6 series. While the standard Z Fold 6 is set to offer the hallmark foldable display and premium features, the Ultra model is positioned as a more premium offering.
Potential disparities between the regular Z Fold 6 and the Z Fold 6 Ultra could encompass display size, memory configuration, stylus integration, camera specifications, and battery options. Samsung may also explore different design elements to differentiate the two models. Given criticisms of the Z Fold 5’s thickness compared to competitors, design enhancements could be on the horizon.
The launch date and pricing for Samsung’s new foldables remain to be seen, leaving enthusiasts eager to see how these innovative devices will shape the future of mobile technology.
