The Realme GT 5 Pro flagship is generating a lot of excitement as its unveiling is set for December 7. Realme has been actively teasing the upcoming flagship, building anticipation among tech enthusiasts. In a recent video teaser, the company provided a glimpse of the phone’s internals, highlighting the impressive 50MP, 3x, Sony IMX890 periscope telephoto camera and the presence of a vegan leather back panel.
Adding to the excitement, Realme has released a new set of teaser images. One of these images showcases an alternative Starry Night color option, featuring a more traditional, non-leather back panel surface. The other teaser image reveals that the Realme GT 5 Pro will offer up to 1TB of internal storage and will also feature USB 3.2 connectivity.
While the USB 3.2 connectivity is an exciting addition, the current state of USB naming can be confusing. It would have been helpful if Realme had used the new marketing-friendly name to refer to the USB connection, which would have provided clarity regarding the actual speed of the data link. The poster mentions that the data link should be 10 times faster than a USB 2.0 connection, suggesting that Realme is using a 5Gbps controller, also known as a USB 3.2 Gen 1×1 or USB 3.1 Gen 1 or USB 3.0.
As for the expected specs of the Realme GT 5 Pro, it is rumored to feature a 6.78-inch, slightly curved 8T LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and “1.5K” resolution, likely the same as the GT5 at 1,240 x 2,772px. The display boasts a peak local brightness of 4,500 nits and a peak global brightness of 1,600 nits. To offer better control over brightness, the phone includes both DC dimming and 2,160Hz high frequency PWM dimming, allowing for 20,000 brightness levels. The display also boasts a touch sampling frequency of 2,160Hz, ensuring smooth and responsive touch interactions.
Powering the Realme GT 5 Pro is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which promises powerful performance and efficient multitasking capabilities. Thanks to a retailer mix-up, it has been revealed that the phone will be priced at CNY 3,500, which roughly converts to $500/€450/₹42,000. However, it’s important to note that this price does not account for local taxes and other additional charges.
